Many workers across the country will sit down tomorrow (Monday) in protest against the legal plan promoted by the government.

Among others, doctors, lawyers, high-tech people, local authority employees, business owners and more are expected to strike.

Demonstrations will be held in the afternoon at various locations.

The main protest will begin at 12:00 in front of the Knesset in Jerusalem, where the protestors will go in convoys of cars that are expected to cause traffic delays.

Earlier, some of them are expected to come to prayer at the Western Wall and from there march to the Knesset.

Local authorities, universities and hundreds of businesses and companies, including architecture firms and law firms, have announced that they will allow those who want to participate in the strike to be absent from work.

About 200 hi-tech companies have already announced that they will allow workers to strike.

The protestors are expected to leave for the Knesset by train starting at 8:30: "It's time to increase the pressure, we can already see the light at the end of the tunnel."

The Municipality of Tel Aviv announced that it will allow strikes at the expense of a day off.

The CEO of the Society for Educational Institutions in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, the largest municipal company in the city that employs 3,500 workers, will also allow dozens to participate in the demonstration: "This is a point where Israel will change its face, its socio-civil fabric, the principles of its regime and its values." School principals in Tel Aviv have announced that they will allow teachers and students to participate in protests and that the school day will be held in accordance with the constraints.

On behalf of the doctors and mental health therapists, it was stated: "Israeli democracy is under brutal attack and we must not stand by. The dangerous changes promoted by the government will cause fatal harm to the physical and mental health of the public, and to medicine in Israel. This is mental supervision and we do it out of commitment to our patients, and for the future of Israel."

The women's protest will also join the demonstration, protesting the low female representation of women in the government: "The legal coup will allow politicians to pass any decision they want. And without representation, we will be the first to be hurt. They ignore us, but we will not let them. We are not silent anymore. We They don't go back."

The revolution planned by the government includes a series of significant changes in the legal system, such as a determination that only an expanded composition of the High Court of Justice can invalidate legislation passed by the Knesset. Another step of the revolution, designed to strengthen the government's hand vis-à-vis the court, is the establishment of a superseding clause that will nullify decisions of the High Court with a majority of only 61 members of the Knesset, and changing the composition of the committee for the selection of judges so that it is fully controlled by the coalition.

The reform also deals with weakening the power of the legal advisors to the government, so that their position will not bind the government, and with eliminating the reason for reasonableness, which, among other things, significantly limits the court's ability to intervene in the appointment of senior officials.
