As part of its series of relief activities, the Majd 2020 volunteer team implemented the (Fazaa Youth of Syria) initiative, to provide relief aid from the people of Damascus and its countryside to their families affected by the earthquake in the affected governorates, within the framework of cooperation and solidarity among the members of the Syrian society.

Regarding the initiative and its objectives, the head of the team, Ghalia Tabaa, explained to SANA reporter that the huge amount of donations that people collected for their affected families was more than expected, as the team operated six large cars on the same day that set off from the team’s headquarters in the Quneitra Chamber of Commerce, loaded with all the necessary food and medicines. She pointed out that most of the donations were from the areas of Ghouta, which were previously damaged by the terrorist war, as the number of points that collect clothes reached 28 points within the governorate of Damascus and its countryside.

Tabbaa said: 1,214 pieces of clothing were initially sent to Aleppo through a convoy of the Saaed team and charities, while a batch of various clothes was directed to the city of Jableh. Trucks, a tipper, a car for transporting workers, 4 compressors, air pumps and 5 electric generators were also provided.

In turn, the young Mahmoud Al-Sawaf, a member of the team, explained that a networking has been made with the Nour Development Association to implement a blood donation campaign to help the wounded and those injured as a result of the earthquake, stressing the need to cooperate with NGOs and coordinate among them to help the most needy families and secure what they need, pointing out at the same time that the team is continuing Collecting in-kind aid to deliver it to the beneficiaries.

These initiatives remain a small part of the many civil initiatives taking place in the Syrian governorates to provide support and assistance to the people of the governorates affected by the earthquake.
