This evening, two relief convoys provided by the Jordanian government entered through the Nassib border crossing, carrying 180 tons of relief materials for those affected by the earthquake in Syria.

The two convoys were received by Chargé d'Affaires of the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus, Dr. Basil Al-Kayed, the Jordanian Consul in Damascus, Anwar Baddawi, and the Disaster Management Team at the Syrian Red Crescent branch in Daraa.

Dr. Al-Kayed said in a press statement at the Nassib border crossing: The two convoys carry 180 tons of relief materials, food, medicine and shelter supplies, provided by the Jordanian government under the direction of His Majesty King Abdullah II for the relief of the Syrian people, indicating that the two convoys consist of 14 trucks.

Al-Kayed pointed out that Jordan's response started from Damascus International Airport, and the response process followed by providing 7 relief trucks last Thursday through the Nassib Jaber border center with Syria.

The Chargé d'Affaires of the Jordanian Embassy indicated that Jordan continues to support the brothers in Syria to overcome the effects of the earthquake.

For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Masalmeh, head of the Syrian Red Crescent branch in Daraa, thanked the government and people of Jordan for standing by Syria in light of what several Syrian governorates are experiencing today as a result of the earthquake disaster.

The teams of the Syrian Red Crescent in Daraa began unloading the cargo of trucks within the Naseeb crossing with trucks of the Crescent, in preparation for transporting them to Damascus and handing them over to the relevant authorities.
