At least four people were struck by a U-Haul truck from the moving rental company in the New York borough of Brooklyn on Monday, according to NBC News.
One of the injured was taken to Lutheran Hospital in serious condition.
Police arrested the driver, who had run over pedestrians on a Bay Ridge sidewalk, according to The Associated Press news agency, but it is not yet known whether it was an accident or a deliberate attack.
The vehicle had Arizona license plates and was later examined by police for explosives after being stopped near the entrance to a tunnel into Manhattan.
