The Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Imangali Tazmagambitov, announced that Belarus will host this year the joint military exercises of the member states of the organization.
After his meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Tazmagambitov said: “The aim of these exercises is to enhance and develop the capabilities of member states in the military field, and to respond to a wide range of challenges and growing threats.”
He added that the exercises will include combating terrorism, organized and cross-border crime, drug trafficking, illegal immigration and efforts in the field of information security.
He stressed that the organization will continue to cooperate and coordinate with regional and international bodies, including the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Organization for Cooperation and Security in Europe.
