Alfons Schuhbeck's legacy is increasingly falling into ruins.
After the jail sentence and the abandonment of his restaurants, the star chef now has to vacate his spice shop.
Munich – It is another bitter defeat for Alfons Schuhbeck (73): The star chef has to clear his spice shop, the district court decided yesterday.
The Messerschmitt Foundation, which owns the Orlando-Haus am Platzl, had sued.
Schuhbecks Company GmbH is a tenant there, but there are considerable arrears - we are talking about over 200,000 euros.
"It has not been paid since June 2022," says Günther Volpers, lawyer for the foundation.
This had terminated in writing on October 17th and 27th - also because of Schuhbeck's conviction in the criminal tax lawsuit (tz reported).
But the Schuhbeck company refused to hand over the rooms, so the foundation filed a lawsuit at the end of November.
The value in dispute is 333,840 euros - according to the court, this is the annual rent for the premises at Platzl 4a.
In addition to the spice shop, there are also the offices of Schuhbecks Company.
The new company was founded after the Schuhbeck bankruptcies in spring 2021 and has annual sales of around four million euros.
Munich: Schuhbeck flies out of the spice shop – no rent paid for months
But the judgment now makes things look bleak, says their lawyer Joachim Borggräfe: “The spice shop is the flagship of the remaining activities.
If the company has to go, how do you want to keep it going?”
60 jobs are affected: in Munich, Altötting and Regensburg.
Including the management of the company.
Only the online shop of Schuhbecks spice trade can continue to operate if it is cleared.
It was agreed yesterday that this will not happen before March 15 - Schuhbecks Company can pay the outstanding rents by then.
And then has to hope at the mercy of the Messerschmitt Foundation that he might be allowed to stay after all.
As of yesterday, that was out of the question.
Lawyer Volpers even accused the Schuhbeck company of delaying insolvency.
According to Borggräfe, there is a current order volume of 1.5 million euros with which the debt can be settled.
