On February 1, the Haut-Rhin Assize Court sentenced the man who was tried alongside his sister to 15 years' imprisonment for "

willful violence against a 15-year-old minor resulting in death without intention to kill him.

The 24-year-old woman was sentenced to six years in prison.

Belt and broom strokes

On September 16, 2018, little Seal-Evan received a beating, first with a belt, then a broomstick, on the pretext of a word in his correspondence book.

The correction session lasted from late afternoon to midnight, partly filmed and recorded by the victim's sister.

The little boy had finally lost consciousness.

Alerted by the sister, the emergency services were unable to resuscitate him.

The autopsy and further examinations had shown that he was unconscious, even in a coma, probably several hours before the call for help.

The Haut-Rhin Assize Court sentenced the victim's mother to four years in prison for "

complicity in willful violence

".

According to the eldest, it was his mother, who was in Paris and had a habit of inflicting corporal punishment, who told him by phone to “

deal with the thing

”.

The court had also pronounced a three-year suspended prison sentence for "

non-prevention of a crime

" against the ex-girlfriend of the older brother, present during the events.
