This Monday morning, while the results of the tests are awaited, the City firefighters continued working at the intersection of
Quevedo and Pedro Morán, in Villa Devoto.
And at noon it was confirmed that a Metrogas operator and four other workers from the Argencobra company were charged with negligent
havoc
, a criminal offense that implies that the fire was caused by lack of skill, imprudence or carelessness, and that has a maximum penalty of five years.
On
Saturday at noon, a gas leak caused
an explosion that shook the neighborhood
: two duplexes were turned into rubble, and a neighbor died on the spot.
In addition, an operator was injured -with 30% of his body with first and second degree burns- and the impact reached the neighboring properties, which had to be evacuated.
Almost two days after the explosion, the firefighters and the Relief Guard continued to
remove debris and verify the structures.
It is a horizontal property plot, in which there were three houses.
Two of them were totally destroyed;
the one that remained standing occupies the corner, however
it had to be evicted.
At the moment, there is no official information about what could have happened.
On the one hand, the claims division of the City Police continues to carry out tests to establish the causes and find out what could have happened to generate an
explosion of these characteristics.
The criminalistics area also worked on the scene to obtain traces that can help to elucidate the fact.

The neighbor who was found dead at the scene is a 76-year-old man,
Roberto Daniel Frattini.
And the operator is José Chaile, 34, who is out of danger.
From the Metrogas company they did not expand or offer additional information to that shared by different City agencies.
But there were company personnel witnessing the expertise operations.
The company in charge of these works, contracted by Metrogas, is Argencobra, a
subsidiary of the Spanish multinational Cobra
, which operates in almost 50 countries.
From the Public Prosecutor's Office they detailed to
Clarín
the steps that were taken in these hours: "Metrogas was requested all the
reports of complaints of gas loss and the protocol for this type of case
. The kidnapping of the truck with which the company's workers were moving. The skills will also be carried out on the clothes of the injured operator".
In addition,
the four cars that were parked
nearby and that were affected by the explosion will be examined;
some even set themselves on fire.
In the first hours, the case was left in the hands of auxiliary prosecutor Alejandro Foster, from the Flagrancia Area in the Western Tax Unit;
and on Sunday afternoon it was transferred to the Criminal, Misdemeanor and Misdemeanor Prosecutor's Office No. 19, in charge of Lorena San Marco.
In parallel to what was linked to Metrogas, information was also requested
from Edesur.
It happens that the same day of the explosion there were workers from the electricity company working nearby.
They would be the ones who notified Metrogas.
The prosecutor's office reported that "Edesur was asked to prove the relationship with the Cobra company, whose workers previously went to work."
