(CNN) --
Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro said Saturday that he plans to return to the country "in the coming weeks" after spending more than a month in the United States, where he received medical treatment.
“No matter how good any part of the world is, there is nothing better than our country (Brazil),” Bolsonaro said while speaking at a gathering in Boca Raton, Florida, according to video posted by CNN affiliate CNN Brazil.

"I also want to go back to Brazil. I intend to go back to Brazil in the next few weeks," he said.
“We made a government without corruption.
We work from the heart, honestly.
Retaliatory or persecutory measures are not justified and we have to face the problems,” he said.

Bolsonaro was released from a Florida hospital last month after receiving treatment related to injuries from a knife attack during a political rally in 2018.
In Brazil, the former president is currently under investigation by the country's Supreme Court for his alleged involvement in the January 8 attacks on government buildings in the capital, Brasilia.
