In the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, a center was set on fire to collect donations for the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey.
The internal security authorities are investigating the circumstances of the arson.
The assessment is that this is an attack by extreme right-wing activists.
The donation collection center is next to a supermarket owned by Turks.
North Rhine-Westphalia is home to a large immigrant population from Turkey and other Muslim countries.
As soon as the first news arrived about the deadly earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, donations for the victims, including food, medicine and clothes, began to be collected throughout Germany.
The security cameras installed near the collection center recorded two men who were probably behind the arson, tearing off a Turkish flag that was hanging there and throwing it into the flames.
Local fire crews worked for two hours before they managed to put out the large fire, which raged in the place.

In recent weeks, there has been an increase in extreme right-wing violence in Germany, especially in the east of the country, in view of the renewed increase in the number of immigrants and refugees arriving in the country.
The death toll from the earthquake in Turkey and Syria has crossed the 36,000 mark.
