A 66-year-old woman was found dead on Saturday February 11 at her home in Meudon (Hauts-de-Seine), and a man was taken into custody, the Nanterre prosecutor's office told AFP on Monday.

An investigation for intentional homicide by spouse was entrusted to the Meudon police station, according to the prosecution, confirming information from the

The woman's body was found in the marital apartment by the emergency services, the same source said.
An autopsy was performed on Monday afternoon.

A 51-year-old woman was also killed Monday in Sevran in Seine-Saint-Denis and her companion was arrested, two days after suspicions of another assassination in Bondy, in the same department.
The number of women killed increased by 20% in France in 2021 compared to the previous year, with 122 women dead under the blows of their spouse or ex-spouse, against 102 in 2020, according to figures from the Ministry of Interior.
