The mayor of Tel Aviv, Ron Huldai, said this morning (Monday) in an interview with News 13 that "dictatorial countries only become democratic again with bloodshed".
The police are looking into the matter.
Huldai also added: "This is the history of the world. Countries have become dictatorships through the democratic process, and unfortunately we have seen terrible things, but countries do not come back from dictatorship, but with bloodshed. They (politicians) are not interested in the president's plea. I appeal to all serious people who know the The State of Israel - you have to understand that there is no right or left here, there are bad guys versus good guys."

The remarks were made as part of a protest strike against the legal reform led by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Justice Minister Yariv Levin.
As mentioned, the police are checking Huldai's statement.
The Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir responded and said "The legal advisor to the government must immediately order an investigation against Ron Huldai. The mayor of Tel Aviv has no immunity and no privilege to incite murder. His call is serious and he must be questioned about it and stand trial."
Chairman of the Noam party, Deputy Minister MK Avi Maoz said in response to the words: "I strongly condemn the severe words of Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai.
We don't have another country, and we don't have another people.
Stop the incitement and rebellion against the legally elected government just because it works to promote the values it believes in."
"Calling Huldai is dangerous".

Chairman of the state camp Benny Gantz: "We are in an emergency and we are in a struggle.
But our struggle is for Israeli democracy, not a struggle between us.
The pain and fear are understandable and have their place, but we must immediately stop the violent discourse and rampage on both sides that could degenerate us into the abyss.
Huldai's reading is dangerous, it is out of place and more than that - it harms the righteous struggle."
