Justice Minister Yariv Levin and the chairman of the Constitution Committee, MK Simcha Rothman, submitted an official request to the bureaus of Lapid and Gantz today (Monday) and asked them to come to the president this evening in order to discuss the compromise proposal in the legal reform outline.
"Following the President's call last night, our bureaus are currently contacting the bureaus of the head of the opposition and chairman of Yesh Atid, MK Yair Lapid, and the chairman of the state camp, MK Benny Gantz, in order to coordinate a joint meeting with the president, more tonight. As I recall, the country's president, Yitzhak Herzog, gave an unusual speech to the nation yesterday and addressed the difficult controversy surrounding the legal reform.
Herzog: "We have long been on the brink of constitutional and social collapse, so in extreme cases like this I refuse to stand by. In the last few weeks I have worked with all my might to bring about broad agreements. We are just before an explosion, just before the hands of each man against his brother. Violence of any kind is a red line." for us to cross under no circumstances. We choose partnership"
