Al-Hasakah farmers continue to produce and market winter vegetables in the local markets, since the beginning of last October.
In a statement to SANA reporter, the head of the Plant Production Department in the Directorate of Agriculture of Hasakah, Eng. Jalal Bilal, stated that the quantities of winter vegetables produced in the Hasakah governorate and marketed in its internal markets exceeded 12,000 tons, including various types of vegetables that are grown in the areas of the governorate, and have contributed to securing the market’s need for them. and price stability.
The Director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Ali Khalif, pointed to the availability of various varieties of vegetables and fruits in the governorate’s markets and the stability of their prices. Some types of vegetables that were supplied from other governorates witnessed a noticeable decrease, especially potatoes, as a result of their low prices from the source.
It is noteworthy that the area cultivated with winter vegetables in Al-Hasakah Governorate for the current season amounts to 4,334 hectares.
