American freelance journalist Seymour Hersh accuses the United States of sabotaging the two Nord Stream 1 and 2 underwater gas pipelines last September

"a source with direct knowledge of operational planning."
The sabotage was discovered on September 27, 2022 by gas emissions on the surface of the Baltic Sea, southeast of the Danish island of Bornholm.
Seismologists later determined that three explosions caused four leaks on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 undersea gas pipelines, which carry Russian gas to Germany.
