Outside the court building, a large number of citizens waited in line to observe. The line of people stretched to the ground floor of the building. Social activist Gu Siyao was outside the line, and frequent demonstrators Wang Fengyao "Grandma Wang" was present to drape the British flag.
The police were on guard at the scene, with at least 50 uniformed police officers wearing bulletproof vests stationed there. Several police cars and assault vehicles were also parked at nearby street intersections, and police dogs were also patrolling the scene.

When asked about the reason for their presence and whether to hear the trial, some people repeatedly claimed "I don't know (I don't know)". Another minority brought their young children to the scene and left in a hurry, asking questions to reporters. No positive response.
In response to the widespread attention to this case, the judiciary has already arranged 400 public viewing seats, and the public can listen to the live broadcast of the trial in the extended court.
According to the reporter, the extended courts were not full during the trial period, and there were no ethnic minorities among those who came to the court for hearing.
16 defendants pleaded not guilty.
