The number of victims of the devastating earthquake disaster, which struck southern Turkey at dawn last Monday, has risen to 31,643 people.
The Anadolu Agency quoted the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, AFAD, as saying in a statement: “About 158,165 people have been evacuated from the earthquake-hit areas so far, and more than 238,459 search and rescue teams are currently working in the field.
The authority indicated that so far, 2412 aftershocks have occurred in southern Turkey, following the two violent earthquakes, the epicenter of which was the state of Kahramanmaraş.
A previous toll indicated that 29,605 people were killed, as a result of the earthquake, in an indefinite toll.
