Representatives of the Government of Colombian President Gustavo Petro, and the guerrilla group the National Liberation Army (ELN) met on Monday in Mexico City to start a new round of negotiations, where both parties they will try to reach agreements in the construction of peace in that country.

“Our peace talks table is an instrument of the change mandate whose agenda seeks to find transformations and put an end to the armed conflict.

It advances facing the difficulties inherited from the old regime, but with the determination to achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace”, said Pablo Beltrán, head of the ELN delegation.

What will the government and the ELN negotiate now?

According to the agenda, in this second cycle of negotiations of the peace talks table in Colombia, the participation of society in the construction of peace will be discussed.
