A member of the Iraqi People's Committee for Supporting Syria and the Resistance, Mustafa Muhammad, announced the departure of twenty trucks loaded with relief and humanitarian materials from Basra Governorate, southern Iraq, to help the afflicted victims of the devastating earthquake in Syria.
Mustafa said in a press statement today: The trucks carrying relief and humanitarian materials represent a popular effort by the people of Basra Governorate to alleviate the suffering of our Syrian brothers, provided that the trucks go to the governorates of Aleppo and Latakia.
Iraq continues to send relief convoys across the common borders with Syria and by air, to help the victims of the earthquake in Syria.
In a related context, the Fourth Brigade of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces organized today a campaign to collect aid for earthquake victims in Syria.
According to SANA's correspondent, the Fourth Brigade opened its headquarters in its areas of presence to receive donations and aid for the relief of the victims of the earthquake that struck Syria, which includes clothes, blankets, and in-kind and financial aid.
