"Hartz and cordial": Philipp is struggling with health problems.
Alcohol has been a big part of his everyday life since he was young.
For many social documentary participants, the "Brandenburg Quarter" in Eberswalde means home.
But the district is notorious as a social hotspot.
The region not far from Berlin has a prefab character and is described by the "Hartz und Herzen" participants as "ghetto barracks".
Some residents struggle daily with financial bottlenecks, their health or sanctions from the authorities.
In the RTLZWEI show they talk about their everyday life.

Although life in the "Brandenburg district" is determined by worries and needs, the residents don't give up.
The 37-year-old Philipp also shows his life in the social documentation on RTLZWEI (here all "Hartz und Herzen" broadcast dates).
In the new episode of "Hartz und Herzen" from Eberswalde he talks about his spirits consumption.
Philipp has been addicted to alcohol for more than two decades.
The addiction almost cost him his life.

“The highest values that were measured via the blood were almost five per thousand.
[...] I'm not proud of it either," reveals the trained animal keeper on TV.
Even as a teenager, Philipp often reached for the bottle and hasn't really gotten away from alcohol since then.
After 20 unsuccessful detoxifications, he is now trying to overcome the addiction in a different way.

"Hartz and warm" from Eberswalde: Despite long-term therapy - Philipp can't get away from alcohol
In order to sustainably improve his health, Philipp would like to change his lifestyle and start long-term therapy.
Although he has taken a step towards a healthier future with long-term therapy, he is unable to fight the addiction.
Philipp still drinks up to a bottle of vodka a day - with devastating physical and mental consequences!
He sees himself as a hopeless case because he cannot imagine life without alcohol: "If you don't start drinking in the morning, then at some point your stomach and body will strike," he says of the effects of his addiction.
His unstable life not only affects his health - his last relationship also broke up due to alcohol addiction.

The Eberswalder's ex-girlfriend reveals on the show that the spirits and the lifestyle that goes with it is said to have regularly caused Zoff.
Again and again Philipp's thoughts revolve around alcohol.
He is a “mirror drinker”: In order to get through the day reasonably well, he must constantly maintain a certain alcohol level.
At the time that "Hartz und Herzen" was filmed, Philipp's kitchen contained around 60 empty bottles of vodka and several dozen empty beer bottles.
In the third episode of the social documentary from Eberswalde, viewers will find out how the other residents of the "Brandenburg District" manage their lives and how "Hartz und Herzen" actor Norman copes with his debts.
