(ANSA) - ROME, FEBRUARY 14 - The project for the construction of the building that will house the new unified library of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of Sapienza was presented in the hall of the Senate of the Rectorate.
The rector Antonella Polimeni, the mayor of Roma Capitale Roberto Gualtieri, the director of the Building Management Area Enrico Bentivoglio and the founder of the Mijic Architects studio, Eduard Mijic, who will coordinate the construction of the new building, took part.

The new building will be located in the area of the campus overlooking Piazzale Aldo Moro and will redefine the skyline of the university city.
It will be a library for study and specialized research, a house of knowledge also open to the city and to external users, with an entrance on via dei Marrucini.
Almost all of the libraries in the humanities area will be merged within it with a book heritage of about 2 and a half million volumes, with the exception of those in languages already relocated to the Marco Polo headquarters.
The aim is to lighten the spaces of the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy, to encourage their requalification, and to safeguard the identity of the individual book collections and their respective origins, through a targeted articulation of the spaces.
