Many personalities and representatives of various Cuban ministries and institutions and members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Cuba flocked to the Syrian Embassy in Havana to express their deep condolences to the people and government in Syria for the earthquake victims.
The visitors expressed their condemnation and rejection of the blockade and unilateral coercive measures imposed by some European countries and the United States on Syria, and demanded the need to lift them, especially in light of the difficult circumstances facing the Syrian people.
The visitors recorded expressions of condolences and sympathy in the register opened by the embassy.
In a statement to SANA reporter in Havana, Vice President of the Council of State and Vice President of the Cuban National Assembly of People's Power (parliament) Ana Maria Machado expressed her deepest condolences to the families of the victims in Syria and to all those affected by the devastating earthquake. .
Machado affirmed that Syria and its people can count on the support and solidarity of the Cuban people.
The Syrian community residing in Cuba also participated in offering condolences and also expressed their solidarity and standing by their country, stressing that Syria is able, with the determination of its people and the wisdom of its leadership, to overcome the devastating effects left by the earthquake.
