Today, the Lattakia City Council evacuated a number of buildings due to the devastating earthquake that struck the province as a precautionary measure, and based on the recommendations of the formed committees to inspect the damaged buildings, according to reports issued by them.
The director of technical affairs at the Lattakia City Council, Eng. Monther Dayoub, told SANA reporter that a number of buildings have been evacuated in the Al-Zaqqaqaniyyah neighborhood, the old Al-Reji, Sheikh Daher, Al-Azhari, and the 10th project.
Dayoub indicated that the street leading from the Plaza Restaurant to the entrance to the American neighborhood, near the Baath Party branch, was closed due to a partial collapse of the front balconies, and a break in one of the columns in an uninhabited building, where the construction situation is being studied at the present time.
Dayoub pointed out that there is a list to evacuate 19 buildings in the Chalihat area, Masbah al-Shaab, and al-Gharf in the southern sand area.
