WE WERE THERE – This evening from 9:10 p.m., La Deux celebrates Valentine's Day with the eighteenth edition of this program, this time co-presented by André Manoukian and Laury Thilleman.

"We recognize the sound of love by the one it makes when slamming the door"

,

"I can no longer conceive of Valentine's Day".

This is how, with a touch of humor, André Manoukian and Aurélie Saada confide in seeing love.

The two acolytes are nevertheless responsible for praising the favorite feeling of poets and singers for a whole prime... A deliberately tender atmosphere emerges from the Parisian theater of the Folies Bergères.

Dressed for the occasion in pink and red neon lights, the mythical auditorium is transformed for one evening into a filming location for “La fête de la chanson d'amour”.

We attended the rehearsals of this prime, the 18th musical event dedicated to this French musical heritage.

It will be broadcast this Tuesday, February 14 from 9:10 p.m. on France 2, and will bring together a hundred French-language titles around different themes: impossible loves, happy or injured, but also sorrows... A well-honed program for the channel and on which the production is working. for nearly four months.

The notes that love each other

Hélène Ségara rehearses on stage alongside André Manoukian.

The musician leaves his role as presenter for a moment and slips into that of pianist.

The one who describes himself, when questioned, as

"a little seductive"

and

"a little cur"

, performs on stage with her two titles from the repertoire of Hélène Ségara:

There are too many people who love you

and

Vivre

.

A medley that requires pushing your voice into the treble.

“I was surprised by Hélène's voice.

When we accompany him, it's great, we are captivated by his mastery”,

he confides then with some

“wowowo”

of fascination.

In his dressing room, André Manoukian indulges in a few secrets about love, even quoting... Mozart:

"A composer is someone who seeks the notes that love each other".

Lost in his amorous thoughts, the musician will end up joking by pointing to the meridian in the center of the room, saying

"he should have stretched out like in a psychoanalysis"

.

On a more serious note, what Laury Thilleman's sidekick also appreciates in this program is the role of "transmitter / transmitter" entrusted to him by Daniela Lumbroso, the producer.

"She always entrusts me with an aside where we tell the story of a song

," he rejoices.

In this edition, it is the title of Julien Clerc,

My preference

, which is analyzed.

We learn that it is dedicated to his former companion Miou-Miou, the target of criticism from the singer's family.

Everyone has a favorite love song.

"I like the good love song of a guy who couldn't conclude"

, describes André Manoukian to quote

La Javanaise

by Serge Gainsbourg.

Pierre Demaere, recently awarded the "Victoires de la Musique" as "Revelation of the Year", is thinking of

Personal Message

by Françoise Hardy.

Aurélie Saada, former half of the Brigitte group, admits

“being very attached to broken love titles”

.

A paradox for this soft and sensual voice which begins to sing

Jolene

by Dolly Parton which she describes as

“a crazy love song”

.

A few minutes later, the singer joins her friend Patrick Bruel to perform at the opening of the prime

I tell you anyway.

"I sang this title so much in my room, I cried, it's crazy to sing it on stage with his interpreter"

, she seems to realize as she tells it.

The rehearsals continue, Daniela Lumbroso observes with a smile and pride the twenty artists she has invited.

The flagship producer of musical programs confides that French song has been for her a real

“vector of integration and learning of the language”.

Originally from Tunis, the former presenter who did not speak French, goes even further and affirms that

"the song saved her".

The author of a book entirely dedicated to the love song is not stingy with anecdotes.

From Hitchcock's loss of virginity in a box at the Folies Bergères to Julien Clerc's song, in which he begs France Gall to come back… Daniela Lumbroso likes stories that end in order to begin again.

No doubt that is why she cites Gilbert Bécaud's most famous title.

“I'm coming back to get you”

, she says to the public to announce this 18th version of “La fête de la chanson”.
