Geratskirchen - It was a murder that shook an entire region.
On July 22, 2021, a 39-year-old man was found dead by his partner.
He was murdered, shot in the head with a shotgun.
So far, all traces of the police have been in vain - so the investigators are now turning to the public via a ZDF program.
Headshot murder in Bavaria: two suspects relieved
After the tragic murder in Geratskirchen, district of Rottal-Inn, the detectives - also thanks to investigations abroad - had two suspects in their sights.
An acquaintance from the immediate vicinity of the victim was exonerated on the day of the crime.
Another man, an Austrian acquaintance of the victim, was targeted by investigators because he had access to shotguns.
They have now been found and are ruled out as a murder weapon.
In the course of the investigation, these were extended to include those further around the murdered person and a “reward of €10,000 was suspended” that would be paid to witnesses with “relevant information that would lead to the clarification of the crime”.
So far, however, this has not led to the desired success of the investigation - so the officials are now turning to the public again as part of the ZDF program "Aktenzeichen XY ... Unsolved".

Murder by headshot two years ago: case with "Aktenzeichen XY"
With a press release on Monday, February 13, the police headquarters in Lower Bavaria announced that they would go public again.
Because you are still groping in the dark when looking for the perpetrator, as the officials write: "The extensive investigations by the Passau criminal police inspectorate and the responsible public prosecutor's office in Landshut have not yet provided any concrete evidence of a possible suspect".
Therefore, after the public reward announcement, the public is being contacted again.
In the ZDF television program "Aktenzeichen XY... Unsolved" the investigators are hoping for new clues and clues that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrator.
Broadcast is Wednesday, February 15 at 8:15 p.m.
The suspended reward of 10,000 euros still applies.
