NATO is considering a "defensive umbrella" over Moldova and Georgia Israel today

After the President of Moldova revealed a Russian conspiracy to overthrow the government in the country, the Transatlantic Alliance is considering taking steps to protect the authorities in Chisinau and Tbilisi.

The Council of Defense Ministers of the NATO alliance will meet today in Brussels to discuss the latest developments in the war in Ukraine - first of all, the beginning of the major Russian attack in the region in Hamut and the Russian threat to other countries, including Moldova.

The NATO Secretary General stated that NATO is exploring ways to provide practical assistance to the defense of Moldova, Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina against Russian threats to their security.

The president of Moldova, Maya Sandu, stated yesterday that intelligence documents that reached Chisinau from Ukraine confirm information that Russia is working to destabilize the country, which borders Ukraine and in part of which a pro-Russian separatist republic was established.

According to intelligence estimates, Russia is planning to carry out a coup in Moldova that will allow it to take control of the country and expand the military campaign against Ukraine from there.

In addition, the NATO defense ministers will examine proposals to coordinate and expand the supply of weapons to Ukraine.

After Germany announced its agreement to supply Ukraine with advanced attack tanks of the "Leopard 2" model, it became clear that NATO countries that have tanks of this model are in no hurry to transfer them to Ukraine.

Ukraine is also now demanding the supply of long-range missiles and fighter jets.

Meanwhile, an unusual incident took place tonight over Poland's airspace when a trio of Russian fighter jets entered Polish airspace from the Kaliningrad enclave, a Russian-controlled area on the Baltic Sea coast between Lithuania and Poland.

In a statement from the Dutch Air Force, it was stated that a pair of F-35 stealth fighters of the Dutch Air Force escorted the fighter jets back to Russian airspace.

This is a particularly unusual incident in light of the great tensions that exist between NATO countries and Russia and in light of the fact that it was the Dutch Air Force that reacted to the Russian provocation. The Dutch response demonstrates the readiness of the allied countries to act to protect the neighbors of Ukraine, members of the alliance, against Russian aggression at short notice.
