The occupied Syrian Golan - SANA
Today, our people in the occupied Syrian Golan commemorated the 41st anniversary of the comprehensive strike against the false Israeli occupation decision to annex the Golan, by announcing the general strike and mourning the lives of the victims of the earthquake that hit Syria.
The celebration of the occasion was limited to decorating the squares of the villages of the Golan with the flag of the homeland and gathering in the squares of Majdal Shams and Baqatha, as an expression of sadness and pain for what happened to the homeland as a result of the earthquake, as all festive activities and festivals that were held on this day were canceled due to the disaster.
In a statement to SANA's reporter in the occupied Golan, the dean of the liberated Syrian prisoners, Sidqi al-Maqt, said: On this day in 1982, the Golan said its word.. no to the occupation and all its settlement plans.. so it was a glorious stand immortalized in history in its finest pages, in rejection of the false occupation decision issued in December 14, 1981, followed by honorable vigils that thwarted all attempts by the occupation to Judaize, from imposing the “Israeli identity” to the so-called local council elections and the turbines scheme, confirming that all the occupation’s plans will not pass on our land.
For his part, Hassan Fakhreddine pointed out that the anniversary passes this year and Syria is in pain as a result of the catastrophe caused by the devastating earthquake, stressing that the echo of this pain is in the hearts of all the people of the occupied Golan, old and young, as they rose to stand by their countrymen with all they could.
Sheikh Jad al-Karim Nasser pointed out that the people of the Golan called out on this day 41 years ago and shouted at the top of their voices that there is no alternative to the Syrian identity, Minya or identity, so that was the spark that was launched in all the villages of the Golan and the great national strike that lasted for six months, during which the people of the Golan wrote the most wonderful pages Pride and dignity, and sacrificed hundreds of prisoners and dozens of martyrs for its soil and an affirmation of belonging to the homeland, Syria.
In turn, Marzouq Shaalan explained that the people of the Golan commemorate the anniversary of the strike, affirming their adherence to their Syrian Arab identity and their belonging to the homeland. Stressing the continuation of the struggle against the occupation's arbitrary measures until the liberation of the Golan Heights and its return to Syria.
Forty-one years have passed since the comprehensive general strike waged by the people of the occupied Syrian Golan in rejection of the plans of the Israeli occupation, and our people in the Golan continue their resistance to the occupation and its aggressive and expansionist measures against their land and property, clinging to their Syrian Arab identity, confident of liberation and return to Syria, no matter how long it takes.
