In Berlin there are no apartments and no appointments with the authorities - and now, after the election, the glue is also running out: because the SPD has saved itself in second place with a 105 vote lead over the Greens, the contrition that was initially displayed is giving way to the For 33 years (co-)governing comrades have a growing determination to keep trying in the chaos capital with the red-green-red coalition of the losers.

However, Operation Maintaining Power becomes a tricky manoeuvre.
If the SPD makes it clear too boldly that their posts are more important than the clearly articulated will of many capital city residents for change, the anger of the citizens could end up hitting the chancellor and the party as a whole.
The comrades still have other elections to master, for example in Hesse.
And nothing better could happen to CSU boss Söder than to present Rotgrün in the Bavarian election campaign not only as the masters of the Berlin disaster, but also as the champions of glued chairs and audacity.
A rapid formation of a Senate is therefore not to be expected, rather tough (sham) negotiations, at the end of which the losers, as in Bremen, fall into each other's arms, touched, with reference to the "larger intersections" that are said there : No one intends to build better schools, new homes, or improve security.
CDU election winner Kai Wegner was born in Berlin and knows his city: He would probably be the least surprised himself if it turned out that the Senate can hold elections, but then fails to implement the democratic vote.
After that, sexy Berlin can go back to its favorite pastime and sink into self-pity for another five years.
