The woman said that when they began to hear the shots, all the passengers threw themselves to the ground.

A young woman from inside told how the violent shooting was at the Retiro station on subway line C: "There were people crying, people very scared and people in shock."

"Shots were heard and we all fell to the ground," Mariela said in statements to the TN news channel.

A City Police officer died this Monday after receiving two bullet wounds in an episode that occurred at the exit of the C subway station in the Retiro neighborhood of Buenos Aires, police sources reported.

The spokesmen added that in the event, whose circumstances have not yet been clarified, there is at least one other person injured and that the 35-year-old officer was assisted by Same doctors with two gunshot wounds to the chest and an apparent cut on the neck and later died at the Churruca Hospital.

A man who said he was a representative of Line C of the Metrodelegates assured that the event that occurred at the Retiro Subway Station, where a policewoman died after being shot, "was not an isolated episode."

"It is not an isolated event, we ask for more security, episodes of violence always happen, not to this degree, but that is why we always demand greater security measures," said the man in statements to the press at the exit of the steps of the Line C of subways.

The man recounted, based on what his colleagues told him, that everything originated when a man "had asked for help because he was apparently hurt" and while being assisted by Subway personnel, "he saw the policewoman and got nervous, so he got into a fight with her".

"It happened in the line of turnstiles, he took the weapon from the policewoman and fired four shots, two of them hit the policewoman. We have a colleague who received a wound in the right area, for which he was referred to the Fernández Hospital ", said.

Meanwhile, the head of SAME, Alberto Crescenti, explained that the policewoman received two bullet wounds, one in the abdomen and the other in the neck, while the Metrovías man only received a "scratch."

Cintia, a worker at one of the posts in the Retiro area, reported that there were many shocked people who ran away in the middle of the shots.
