The Ministry of Culture and the Syrian cultural community mourned the distinguished plastic artist and musician Zuhair Hadramout, who passed away today at the age of 73.
The late al-Qadir is a plastic artist and violinist, born in Hama 1950. Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1974. He represented Syria in the International Symposium in Beirut 2001. He also represented Syria in Spain - Seville in 1992, among 7 Syrian artists in a cultural event on the history of Syria, under Title: “Seven Art Schools from Syria.”
His rich artistic career adorned his name with many certificates of appreciation, which he received from the Syrian Ministry of Culture for many of the artistic and cultural activities in which he became famous, including a certificate of appreciation from Dr. Appreciation from the Syrian Minister of Culture 2007 in the annual exhibition, and a certificate of appreciation from the Minister of Culture for participation in an exhibition in Ukraine 2007. He also participated in the Alexandria Biennale 2003.
As for his artistic works, he has holdings from many agencies and ministries, more than sixty works within the holdings of the Syrian Ministry of Culture, and many private holdings inside Syria and in the countries of the world.
He attended the art of the late Hadramout in many local, Arab and international exhibitions, including the 1986 Popular Wedding Exhibition, which he held in Damascus and Hama, in addition to six solo exhibitions in Damascus, Homs and Hama, and he was a permanent participant in the annual exhibition since 1975 until now, and participated in most exhibitions Organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Arts Syndicate in Syria and countries of the world such as (Russia - France - Bulgaria - Spain) and in all Arab countries.
In the field of his musical compositions, they are many, the most famous of which is the melody of the song “Daa Omri” by the poet Walid Qanbaz. In the administrative and educational aspect, he had a place in it, so he worked as director of the Suhail Al-Ahdab Center for Fine Arts and a teacher at the Institute for Teachers Preparation and a teacher at the Institute of Women’s Arts in Hama.
