The People's Assembly, in its session held today, chaired by Hamouda Sabbagh, the Speaker of the Council, commemorated the 41st anniversary of the comprehensive strike of our people in the occupied Syrian Arab Golan, against the false Israeli occupation decision to annex the Golan.
In his speech on behalf of the council, Sabbagh stressed the principled and firm position of Syria to support the steadfastness of our patient people in the occupied Syrian Arab Golan, who rose up and are still standing in the face of the Zionist machine of hatred and criminality and the arbitrary occupation measures since the issuance of the false annexation decision until today, indicating that the people of the Golan are the owners of Land and identity, and this is a fact that no one can deny.
The President of the Council praised the sacrifices and heroism of our people in the occupied Golan and their emphasis on every occasion on the Syrian Arab identity of the Golan, explaining that victory and liberation will come, God willing, no matter how long or short the time is, thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people, the heroics of the army and the blood of the righteous martyrs.
For their part, a number of members of the Council expressed their confidence that the occupied Syrian Golan will inevitably return, because the right does not lapse by statute of limitations, stressing that our people in the Golan wrote the most wonderful epics and sacrifices through the honorable stops immortalized in history, in rejection of the false Zionist annexation decision, which thwarted the Judaization operations. Which the Zionist entity is trying to impose on the occupied Arab lands.
Then the Council began a general discussion on the report of the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee, on the new draft law on fees, insurance, and judicial expenses. A number of members of the Council participated in it, where the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Ahmed Al-Kuzbari, and the Minister of Justice, Judge Ahmed Al-Sayed, answered all the questions and proposals of the members.
The Council then moved on to discussing and approving the articles of the draft law, and approved by majority articles 1 to 17, which are related to definitions and general provisions.
The session, which was attended by Minister of State for People's Assembly Affairs Abdullah Abdullah, was adjourned to 11:00 am tomorrow, Wednesday.
