The Russian Foreign Ministry called on the Moldovan authorities to show statesmanship, not to succumb to provocations from abroad, and to realize the great benefits that stable friendly relations with Russia can bring.
Commenting on the statements of Moldovan President Maya Sandu about information provided by the Kiev regime that there is a Russian plan to destabilize Moldova, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said: “It is clear that the real goal of Kiev, which launched misleading information about the alleged Russian plan to destabilize Moldova, is to involve Chisinau in A severe confrontation with Russia,” stressing that Russia categorically rejects these fabrications regarding its alleged desire to destabilize the situation in Moldova.
Zakharova added, "Unlike Western countries and Ukraine, we do not interfere in the internal affairs of Moldova and other countries in the world, just as Russia does not pose a threat to its security, but rather stands with the development of equal and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation."
