Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlot Çavuşoğlu said today (Tuesday) in statements to the media at the end of his meeting with Foreign Minister Eli Cohen in Ankara that the situation in the West Bank and Jerusalem should be calmed down for the month of Ramadan.
Minister Cohen arrived this morning for his first visit to Turkey since the establishment of the new government.
After his meeting with his Turkish counterpart, Cohen is expected to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The visit comes against the background of the severe earthquake in which tens of thousands of Turkish citizens perished.
Israel sent a large expedition to assist in the rescue and rescue, and even established a field hospital in the disaster area.
Later today, Cohen is expected to arrive in the area and meet with the Israeli aid teams.

He added that the status quo must be maintained at Al-Aqsa Mosque and emphasized that Cohen had promised him that this would be the case.
"This is a sensitive issue for the world and for Israel," said the Turkish Foreign Minister.
