After Israir and Arkia, El Al will announce today (Tuesday) at the IMTM tourism conference the company's next destination - direct flights to Istanbul.
El Al will operate the direct flights to Istanbul through its subsidiary, Sun Dor, and the direct flights will start at the end of next month, on March 30, about a week before Passover.

El Al's decision stems from the high demand for the destination, which is about a two-hour flight from Israel and offers countless attractions, fine cuisine, excellent nightlife and at very affordable prices.
Sun Dor's entry into the competition for Istanbul is expected to lead to lower prices for flights there, since Turkish Airlines, Arkia, Israir, Pegasus, Korndon, Freebird and other companies already operate direct flights to the destination.
It is estimated that the number of flights to Istanbul will cross the 20 daily departures already in preparation for Passover and the coming summer.
