"Hartz and warm" - In the RTLZWEI social documentary, Christine expresses a wish that is not exactly cheap.

Your old e-bike is to be exchanged for a mobile home for the elderly:

The participants in the social documentary "Hartz und cordial" are very popular with viewers throughout Germany.

In the new episodes of the RTLZWEI show, viewers get an insight into how the residents of the former workers' settlement in Mannheim cope with little money but many problems.

In addition to Janine, Elvis, Katrin and Gudrun, who has since died, the 45-year-old Christine can also be seen again and again in the TV show.

MANNHEIM24 reports on this.

"Hartz and cordial" on RTLZWEI: Christine does not have a driver's license - and would like a mobile home for the elderly

The mother of four, Christine, is finding it increasingly difficult to walk due to various chronic illnesses.

Since the Benz Barracks resident does not own a car, she looked around for an alternative.

The 45-year-old recently bought an e-bike to be more mobile in her everyday life.

The vehicle, which cost more than 800 euros, was not well received by the "Hartz und Herzen" viewers - the insight into their expenses made the fans suspicious.

Also in the new episodes "Hartz und cordial" (here all "Hartz und cordial" broadcast dates) Christine complains that she is not mobile enough: "I wanted to get a mobile home for the elderly or a wheelchair, there are two variants: A mobile home for the elderly with a roof, but that also costs between 4,000 and 5,000 euros.

Then a wheelchair, which is similar to a car, with 15 km/h – you can drive that without a driver’s license, but that costs 11,000,” Christine describes the different aids.

"Hartz and warm" in the Benz barracks: Christine is desperate - "There are not many alternatives"

There is no way the welfare recipient can afford these sums: "There aren't many alternatives that I can drive with [my daughter] and without a driver's license," Christine continued on TV.

The e-bike is not very suitable for excursions with her new dog Caspar and 6-year-old Sophie.

Her daughter is now so big that they would no longer fit on the electric bike together.

"The moment I kick, I hit her and that's not great," explains Christine worried.

Actually, the senior mobile would be the best solution for Christine - but there is a catch!

You would probably have to bear the cost yourself.

"I know that you can get a senior mobile with 6 km/h from the health insurance company, but only when nothing really works anymore," reveals the Mannheim resident in the social documentary.

“Hartz and heartily” fame Christine suffers from osteoarthritis of the hip joint

Christine suffers from severe pain, especially over long distances.

"I can walk, but not that far, because then I get pain in my side from osteoarthritis of the hip.

That restricts me when running," reveals the mother of four in the social documentary.

It remains to be seen whether Christine will actually apply for a mobile home for the elderly from the health insurance company.

The new "Hartz and warm" episodes from the Benz barracks run every Tuesday at 8:15 p.m. on RTLZWEI.

TVNOW subscribers can also watch the current episodes in stream.
