A woman left designer handbags with thousands of euros on a tram that were intended to help earthquake victims.
Then she was very lucky.
Cologne – On Monday (February 13), a lady who was traveling by tram in Cologne was lucky in misfortune.
When she got out, the woman forgot to take two high-priced handbags with valuable contents.
With the help of honest Deutsche Bahn employees, however, she was ultimately able to get all the items back.
Woman travels with luxury bags and cash - and forgets her luggage on public transport
As reported by the federal police headquarters in Sankt Augustin, the 56-year-old from Elsdorf in North Rhine-Westphalia was on the S12 line.
She had two branded handbags in her luggage.
In addition to travel documents and EC cards, it contained a large amount of cash: the designer handbags contained 10,100 euros and 3,200 Turkish lira (equivalent to 158.29 euros).
The lady had booked a flight to Turkey, where she wanted to support relatives in the earthquake area with the sum.

the damage to buildings and infrastructure is immense.
Forgotten valuable luggage in the tram: Honest DB employees save property
For reasons that are not known, the lady left the tram without her bags - it seems obvious that she simply forgot the objects when she got off.
Employees of Deutsche Bahn AG took care of the luggage left behind and brought it to the Federal Police Office at Cologne Central Station.
The officials there were able to determine the identity of the lady and informed her of the find by telephone.
Elsdorferin wanted to help relatives in the earthquake area
Anyone who has forgotten objects on the train can take a few tips to heart – but it is difficult to prevent an unauthorized person from taking possession of the luggage.
As reported by the police, the woman from Elsdorf was extremely relieved and immediately went to the office.
There she was able to credibly explain the background to the large amount of cash and then take her property home with her.
In view of the lost items, she did not take the flight to Turkey, which had been booked for Monday morning.
