A convoy of relief aid provided by the Islamic Mission Scouts Association in Lebanon to those affected by the earthquake in Lattakia governorate arrived at the Arida border crossing in Tartous governorate.

The deputy commissioner-general of the association, Hajj Abdo Saidah, said in a statement to reporters: The convoy includes three trucks loaded with foodstuffs and three ambulances equipped with the necessary medical aid, to help those affected by the earthquake in Lattakia, stressing the unity of the situation and destiny that unites the Syrian and Lebanese peoples, and it is the second for the association after the participation of defense personnel. Sidah added: “It was necessary to meet the needs of those affected, foremost of which are infant formula, food and medical supplies, and other necessary requirements for all of us to overcome this ordeal, so that the first relief convoy would be under the slogan (And Solidarity) under the guidance of His Excellency President Nabih Berri and the scout leaders.”

For his part, Director of Public Services in Tartous Governorate, Jihad Qamira, considered in a statement to SANA reporter that this convoy is a good gesture sent by the Lebanese people to the Syrian people to contribute to providing a helping hand to them, and to stand by them in their humanitarian ordeal, pointing to the role of those concerned in the governorate in facilitating the passage of convoys coming from Lebanon to Syria through this crossing to reach those affected by the earthquake disaster in the stricken governorates.
