China today announced its intention to take countermeasures in accordance with the law against relevant US entities that have undermined China's sovereignty and security, in response to US sanctions on Chinese companies and institutions.
The Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin as saying: “The entry of a Chinese civilian drone into US airspace is a completely unintended and unexpected event, and a separate event due to force majeure, as the Chinese side has repeatedly informed its US counterpart of this. However, the United States used the incident as a pretext to impose illegal sanctions on Chinese companies and institutions, ”noting that the United States exaggerated its response to the abuse of force, and deliberately escalated the situation.
"China resolutely opposes these sanctions and will take countermeasures in accordance with law against relevant US entities that have undermined China's sovereignty and security to protect its sovereignty and legitimate rights and interests," Wang added.
Yesterday, China announced its strong opposition to the United States placing six Chinese entities on the export control list in the so-called basis for supporting Chinese space programs such as military airships.
