Fires at Stellantis Sochaux: a temporary worker arrested and referred

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, around fifty vehicles were damaged by fire in the parking lot of the factory site.


A temporary worker from the Stellantis factory in Sochaux (Doubs) was arrested and referred on Wednesday as part of the investigation into the intrusion and fire of vehicles on the site last weekend, we learned Wednesday from the Montbéliard prosecutor's office.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, around fifty vehicles were damaged by fire.

The cars were parked in a large car park under solar panels which also burned for several meters, causing damage of around 3 million euros.

A judicial investigation was opened on Sunday and a temporary worker was arrested on Monday.

He will be presented Wednesday at the end of the day to an investigating judge, told AFP the prosecutor of Montbéliard, Ariane Combarel.
