Nicola Sturgeon appears to be stepping down as Scottish Prime Minister.
The British broadcasters BBC and Sky News report unanimously.
The government in Edinburgh initially did not confirm the reports.
However, according to the media, Sturgeon will announce her decision at a press conference around 12 p.m.
Sturgeon has led the Edinburgh regional government with her Scottish National Party (SNP) as First Minister for eight years.
