A learning experience for more than 1000 pupils is offered by the week of action on the subject of energy at schools in Dorfen.

The initiators are Stadtwerke Dorfen.

Dorfen – More than 1000 schoolchildren in Dorfen have a very special kind of learning experience this week: The play teacher Friedhelm Susok teaches the children in the community area the subject “Energy”.

Stadtwerke Dorfen are the initiators of these instructive and yet fun school hours.

The show with the mouse is a model for moderator Susok.

In the auditorium of the elementary school in Dorfen, he inspires the girls and boys with laughter and factual stories.

The children eagerly stretch their fingers up and answer the tricky puzzles.

It's all about energy - electromobility and photovoltaics, but also water and wind power.

Infotainment is the name of the concept, which appeals to elementary school students as well as high school students, although the material was adapted to suit the age of the latter.

Mathias, Letizia and Jan are in class 4a at the Nord elementary school.

The students say after the event that they find local history and general knowledge much more exciting than German and math.

"We've already had the issue of saving energy in HSU," says Letizia (10).

And Mathias, also ten years old, adds: "Nevertheless, we learned a lot of new things today - how to protect the environment so that it doesn't get too hot on earth." more dirty, Jan (9) has long been aware of that.

Saving energy has long been on the agenda for the three kids from Dorfen.

Especially now that the war is on, it's important to make sure to unplug the television and computer at night so that the devices don't draw power, or to turn down the heating, they say.

Jan even demonstrated the Big Bang with balloons on stage together with the moderator.

“We learned a lot there – it was really cool,” he says.

The children should also become ambassadors for their parents and grandparents, but also for friends, that is the aim and purpose of this event, according to Klaus Steiner, Managing Director of Stadtwerke Dorfen.

Because the more the topic of energy is talked about and discussed, the more things move in society.

Stadtwerke Dorfen has been using regenerative energy production for a long time, pushing the energy transition, the Dorfener Stadtwerke undoubtedly have a pioneering role in the region.

Authorized officer Sebastian Heiss, a father himself, came up with the idea of bringing this campaign to Dorfen as well.

Practice is early, he says, because the sooner you deal with this topic, the more people think about environmental protection and the energy transition.

"We are the future," say Mathias, Letizia and Jan in unison.

"People in the past didn't pay that much attention to the earth - but we'll be alive in this world for a long time and want to make it better," the three agree.
