Al-Hasakah City Council has started implementing a project to install lighting devices that operate on solar energy in the city center of Al-Hasakah, with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
The head of the Hasakah City Council, Eng. Adnan Khajo, said in a statement to SANA reporter that the project includes the installation of 625 lighting devices that operate on solar energy, in addition to 118 lighting poles, where the concrete bases for installing the poles have already been poured, and it is expected that the installation will be completed and put into service at the end of this month.
Khajo added: All devices will be installed in the center of the city of Hasakah, where the Great Mosque Street, Al-Jisreen Road, and a number of streets in the “Meridian, Al-Tahrir, Al-Qudah, Al-Mahatta, and Fardouseh” neighborhoods will be lit, in addition to a number of secondary streets, so that the city center will be almost completely lit.
And the head of the city council indicated the importance of installing lighting devices in terms of giving more aesthetics to the city center and ensuring the continuity of lighting and its role in reactivating the commercial market in the city center.
