The fire in a house which led to the death of a 14-year-old schoolgirl, Monday, February 15 in the morning in the town of Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerc'h (Finistère), would have been lit voluntarily by the one of the five boys present on the scene, indicated the parquet floor of Quimper.
One of them allegedly "deliberately set fire
to the house while all of his companions were outside
" and the victim, on returning to the house to retrieve an object she had forgotten, found himself trapped by the flames, said Wednesday the public prosecutor of Quimper, Carine Halley, in a press release.
Four minors taken into custody
The fire broke out at 6 a.m. Monday in a house in Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerc'h, located between Quimper and Brest.
The autopsy carried out established that the victim had died "
as a result of asphyxiation following the fire
", according to the same source.
According to the investigation, five minors, aged 14 to 16 and residing in Finistère, "
would have spent part of the night in the currently unoccupied house belonging to one of their acquaintances, after having entered it by a window
".

The fifth, whose condition was deemed incompatible with police custody, was taken care of in a psychiatric unit, according to the magistrate.

with a view to the opening of a judicial investigation against X of the counts of willful destruction of the property of others by dangerous means having death
", a crime punishable by life imprisonment.
