Several heads of the right, especially the representative to the Chamber Miguel Polo Polo, call this Wednesday for mobilizations against the Government of Gustavo Petro, in 12 cities in Colombia and seven abroad.

The volume of protesters will be significant since this Tuesday it was the president who called for a march in his favor and closed the day with a proclamation from the balcony of the presidential palace in which he reactivated the speech that helped him get elected in 2022. The march opposition occurs against the background of the health reform that Petro presented to Congress this Monday and that promises to be the subject of strong political tension over the coming months.

Adriana Rodríguez, a Cuban living in Bogotá: "It bothers me that they replicate lies. It is my duty to warn Colombians"

He denounces that Petro wants to emulate "the Cuban repressive model" and criticizes the visit to Cuba of the vice president, Francia Márquez.

"She says that Cuba is a medical power. No, sir. It bothers me that they replicate lies. It is my duty to warn Colombians," he affirms.

The march of the No to everything

If a few years ago the country experienced marches of the No to the plebiscite for peace, the first mobilization of the opposition last September was the march of the No to everything.

Here we remember this chronicle of how the first pulse of the opposition in the street was experienced at that moment.

For this mobilization there was no central idea that would unite the protest or a visible political head.

6 months have passed and the presentation of different reforms that already generate strong opinions among opponents of the Government of Gustavo Petro.

The opposition march starts strong and punctual in Bogotá

Hundreds of people against the Government of Gustavo Petro arrived on time at the National Park to protest against the current management.

Unlike the day before, when fewer citizens were seen on the streets at the same time and above all organized by the unions, in the opposition march there is no union that brings together the protesters but rather a very diverse collection of marchers.

Some carry slogans against abortion, others say no to sexual education, a group carries a sign against the "discursive demagogy" of Petro, and others against the government's energy reforms.
