The Vaterstetten fire brigade, the largest FFW in the large community, takes stock for the year 2022. Operations increased by 15 percent.
The statistics alone show 79 fires.

- "A demanding year lies behind the Floriansjünger in Vaterstetten - and yet one that gives hope after the deprivation of the pandemic." This is how Commander Julian Kuhn summarized the year 2022 at the annual general meeting.
The numbers: 239 missions and almost 7200 hours worked on a voluntary basis.
The volunteers from Vaterstetten, the largest fire brigade in the greater community, had to respond to 79 fires last year alone.
This is shown by the presented statistics.
The other 160 missions were distributed among other things to 30 apartment openings in acute danger, 24 traffic accidents and just as many medical assistance.
Overall, according to Kuhn, the number of missions increased by 15 percent compared to the previous year.
The military currently has 76 active members and had to cope with a slight decline during Corona.
The total membership is currently 175.

Kuhn particularly remembered the double fire on the afternoon of March 20, 2022, when the Vaterstetten fire brigade and other fire services were called almost simultaneously to the fire in a fortunately empty residential building and to a room fire in Baldham.
Double action in March and fire in an underground car park
In his review, Kuhn also referred to the underground car park fire on Baldhamer Marktplatz in December last year, in which no one was injured thanks to the quick intervention of the fire brigade.
Club life: Maypole is erected
The board of directors newly elected in 2022, Josef Schmied, was hopeful that after the pandemic had been overcome, in addition to the technical fire service, more club activities would now be possible again.
The first major task in 2023 is to set up the eleventh Vaterstetten maypole, which will be guarded at the Reitsbergerhof from April 1st and prepared "for its big appearance" on May 1st.
And the midsummer bonfire, which is popular beyond the municipal boundaries, will also take place on June 23 at its traditional place, the new Bürgerpark.
Positive balance of the youth warden
Youth director Michael Fietz also drew a positive conclusion at the meeting.
He was happy about the face-to-face lessons with the youth group, which are now possible again after Corona.
With currently 20 members, this is bigger than it has been for years.
With the district youth fire brigade day, which was able to take place again after a two-year break, and a total of 35 exercises, the junior staff can also look back on an exciting year.
Mayor Leonhard Spitzauer praised the volunteers' commitment to the safety of the community at the meeting.
Honors and Promotions
Recognitions were given at the convention to seven members for 10, 20 and 30 years of active service.
Promotions were lined up for 15 Florinan disciples.
For the first time there were also seven members of the youth fire brigade, who received the newly created rank of fire brigade candidate.
When you turn 18, you will soon be able to support the Vaterstetten fire brigade in active service, the people in charge are happy.
