Today, every politician, media person, actor or lawyer knows that if he wants to be considered a 'celeb' he must win a role in "Amazing Country".

During the 60's and 70's when television was in its infancy the road to celebrity was a direct entry to the "Pale Tracker" sketches that were broadcast on a loop in those days on the radio.

Ami Paztal, who passed away at the beginning of this week at the age of 87, won the character of "Ami Paz-Gol" in the mythological sketch of the Hagash Trio on the program "Shirim and Sha'ir".

Although the skit is accompanied by the opening melody of "Matt Sport" and not of "Sherim and Shaari", it reflects well the happenings in the studio and on the pitches while being careful to end with "Let me thank the technicians".

Paztal presented Serugin with Gideon Hod (the founder and creator of the program) "Songs and Gates" at its beginning in 1970.

As you know, the program was broadcast on Saturdays and the placement of the reporters in the fields was recorded every Wednesday on a pack of cigarettes in the parliament of the broadcasting giants at the time who gathered at Cafe "Harley" in Tel Aviv for a decade. The meeting included the director of the legendary sports department of the late Kol Israel Nehemiah ben Avraham, Yoel Katz Z "L, the late Ami Faztal and Gideon Hod Yavdla.

At the meeting, the members dealt every week with issues that are in the limelight of the sports world alongside issues on the agenda. As a lawyer, Faztal also gave legal angles to the issues (later he served as Deputy to the Attorney General and Director of the Civil Department in the Tel Aviv Municipality as well as as a judge in the Supreme Court of the Israel Football Association).

Paztal was pleasant and thorough in every subject he dealt with.

These values were brought to the microphone every Shabbat in "Shirim and Sha'ir".

The program was considered groundbreaking in the Shabbat broadcasts on the radio at the time.

All the programs (including the "Weekly Diary") were recorded, and for the first time a program was broadcast live.

The program Berishit Drakha was broadcast from two studios.

Menashe Raz was in Jerusalem, and in the studio in Tel Aviv, as mentioned, Ami Paztal and Gideon Hod alternated in presenting. Initially, the reports were not broadcast in the voices of the reporters from the pitches, but were delivered to the production in the studio and from there they were transferred to the program trays. Paztal added to the background update and commentary while analyzing the situation of the table as a result of the goal scored with the assistance of Mada Kashtan The late

It was only later that the live reports from the fields began and also around the gates of the fields a linguistic cult was built such as - "To you Hanoch", when they addressed Hanoch Kenan and "The Yellow Volcano" by Eliyahu Ben On.

Some defined "Shirim and Sha'ir" during Paztal's time as the program of the jurists.

Many of the best of the program's writers, such as Paztal, practiced law, including: the late Shimon Dagan, the late Yoel Katz (including his 2 sons), as well as Yaakov Hozias and Hanoch Keinan 1871, along with others.

Paztal lived and breathed football until the day he died.

He served for decades as the chairman of Shimshon Tel Aviv and led it with the professional team to great achievements, and nevertheless he made sure to maintain professional objectivity when he opened the microphone. His mouth and heart were equal and this value accompanied

him in every field in which he dealt. He was also a co-founder of A daily sports program on Network B that was considered groundbreaking in the early 1970s. The program "Today in Sport" which was broadcast for about 10 minutes brought hot updates of what was happening in the various sports and it is said that in the sports systems of the newspapers they followed it with great attention while creating "Polo" For reports for a broader story in the next day's newspapers.

Paztal also presented the "sports forecast" on Thursdays during the 1960s, as well as broadcast on the radio from the soccer World Cup matches, from the European championships and a host of other sports events. I especially remember the live and historic broadcast from Tehran in which the Israeli national team lost 1:0 Against Iran in the final of the Asian Games Championship.

Later on in his radio career, he served as a commentator in the national team's matches and in the summary of the cycle in "Shirim and Goals".

He also presented the new version of "Malzur Ha'Sport" on Motzash (a program that was extended to two hours) and the weekly sports program "Rishon Rishon" that was broadcast on Sundays at 6:00 p.m. on Channel B in the late 1980s. In all programs, Paztal preserved the values of the old

radio And the best, he checked every word that came out of his mouth and was even described by one of his colleagues who worked with him as someone who "makes sure to think while speaking".

Paztal's death combines great sadness, a nostalgic pinch and a lot of longing for the good old radio whose flame of the tribal bonfire is significantly smaller.

Of blessed memory.
