Today, a delegation from the Supreme Shiite Islamic Council, headed by Sheikh Ali Al-Khatib, visited the headquarters of the Syrian Embassy in Lebanon, and offered condolences to the Chargé d'Affairs, Ali Daghman, for the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Syria.
In today's statement, Al-Khatib expressed his solidarity with the Syrian people in their ordeal as a result of the earthquake that hit the country, saying: “We affirm that we are one people in two states, and what befalls Syria affects Lebanon,” calling on the Arab peoples to be loyal to Syria and break the unjust siege imposed on it.
Al-Khatib stressed that Syria will return stronger than it was.
For his part, the Chargé d'Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Lebanon expressed his thanks and appreciation for the sincere feelings of the Shiite Islamic Council delegation, appreciating the fraternal initiatives in brotherly Lebanon to console and help the Syrian people.
