At the end of ten days, the head of the Rama Council, Shawki Abu Latif, who was detained in the operation against the crime organization "Abu Latif" - was released today (Thursday) to house arrest.
Shawki was arrested, among other things, on suspicion of helping the family members and, among other things, of sabotaging police operations, after the revelation of the "Black Billion" affair.
The head of the council was detained for ten days and the police did not ask to extend his detention once more, because his investigation was over.
"The Israel Police continues the investigation of the additional suspects until they are completed, in coordination with the Economic Department of the Prosecutor's Office and in cooperation with the Tax Authority, the Money Laundering Authority and other enforcement agencies," the police said.

Advocate Bassel Falah, who represents Shuki Abu Latif, head of the Kfar Rama Council, said: "From the first minute, we claimed that there was no connection between Shuki Abu Latif with the "Black Billion" affair and not with the criminal organization.
I am glad that the court was convinced by the arguments and ordered his release.
I hope that in the coming days after he rests, he will return to his position and work as he was before.'
As part of an investigation that lasted about a year, 21 leaders of the "Abu Latif" organization were arrested earlier this month.
The heads of the organization are suspected of financial crimes, including tax evasion amounting to hundreds of millions of shekels and involvement in many violent incidents, including murder.
