United States President Joe Biden said today (Thursday) that it appears that the three unidentified objects that were shot down by American fighter jets recently were not used to spy on the country and were probably related to good causes.
Biden, in his speech, said that the assessment of the American intelligence community is that the objects were probably related to private companies or research institutions.
However, the president added that his country acted out of an abundance of caution in shooting down the three aerial objects, managed to protect sensitive sites from being collected by the Chinese balloon and that he does not apologize for taking down that balloon.
He went on to say that if any objects pose a threat to the Americans, he will take them down as well.

The first object was discovered about two weeks ago, when the American government announced that the country had been tracking a suspicious Chinese balloon that was located over Montana in the western United States for several days.
At the end of that week, with Biden's approval, he was overthrown.
The second object, identified last Saturday, American and Canadian F-22 fighter jets intercepted another unidentified object, which entered Canada's airspace from the north.
The next day, the US military intercepted another flying object, the third, over North American airspace.
The unidentified object "shaped like an octagon with ropes tied to it", flew at high altitude and was dropped over Lake Huron in Michigan.
China, for its part, claimed right from the first object identification that these were objects for "civil meteorological and other scientific" purposes, and expressed regret that the balloon had strayed into the airspace of the United States.
