The Ministry of Electricity is following up the repair and maintenance work for the damage to the electricity sector in Aleppo Governorate, as a result of the earthquake, which affected more than 20 transmission centers and 500 electricity poles, in addition to damage to cables, anchors, and accessories for centers.
During a tour of the Minister of Electricity, Eng. Ghassan Al-Zamil, on maintenance work that includes the thermal power plant in Aleppo, and the first steam group in preparation for connecting it to the electrical network and putting it into service, he stressed the need to accelerate the pace of work at all levels, to repair these damages and overcome work obstacles.
During his meeting with the workers at the station and the executing company, Eng. Al-Zamil indicated that the shortage of resources and equipment as a result of the unjust siege makes work more difficult and the challenges greater in light of the large scale of the disaster, explaining that despite this, work continues and coordination with the operating rooms in the governorates, in order to complete all repairs.
